All we know so far is that the film has entered pre-production over at Lionsgate Films with a projected release date of 2009. That's not too far away, so I hope they're not rushing it. The script was written by Thomas Dean Donnelly (Sahara) and directed by Xavier Gens (Hitman).
Apparently, Lionsgate is talking about this being the start of a whole new series of films. No word on casting yet.
