This one is mine, going on the bookshelf next to my Albion Atlantean.. ;)
Thanks for plug, Michael!
@Bob - Now THAT explains the sword in Cary's pic.
@Cary - I think that most all of us can agree that you're the best thing to happen to Conan comics since Big John. Kudos to you, sir!
I believe...even though REH would disagree that part of any characters make up is a sword with it's own character. If Conan picked up a sword as long as it was well balanced he'd hang onto it for as long as it lasted before he discarded it for another. So swords were mere props. But the Atlantean sword...it has character and people identify with it. (Just a thought )
When Conan O came out by Dark Horse and I saw Cary's art and the
poster for the series I thought to myself..." The way this is done and the technique used to color the whole thing is perfect , Cary's work has a Frazetta feel yet it's all his own...he don't swipe or borrow but he's got the feel " Now along with a talent for a great composition and skill to match...Conan was BACK BABY!
I read those early DH issues frequently.
i think that 'feel' is a sense of motion or energy frazetta was able to convey in his pictures. and hell yeah nord has it, and he should be remembered the way bws or buscema will be as well-mario
Would be easier to "check out this" if a link was provided. Unless I'm missing it.
My bad....here you go...
