CONAN/JONAH HEX
Back when CONAN was being published by Marvel comics a Team up like this would have made perfect sense. They could have even thrown Scalp hunter in there for good measure. I am sure Conan would have gotten along quite well with the Comanches and Apaches. At that time they could even have had Alfredo Alcala draw the mini series. But alas ...it was not to be. Several years ago Dark Horse comics held both the Conan rights and Tarzan rights. I drew up a team up script and plot synopsis that had Tarzan chase a witch back through time via a magic mirror. Tarzan and Conan tussled a couple of times in the story with no victor...to appease fans of both heroes. Oh it was a good script alright. But the reply was "There will be no Conan team ups ever!" ( Oh yeah? What happened with GROO? ) Anyway... Who ever photo shopped this little faux cover together did an excellent job. I wish I knew...this way I can give the appropriate credit to whom it is due. Enjoy.

This team up would have never happened because Jonah Hex is a DC character and Conan was at that time a Marvel character.
ReplyDeleteMarvel and DC had a half dozen crossovers. Besides that...it's a WHAT I F scenario...
ReplyDeleteThey have ... in the 1990s.
ReplyDeleteBut all of them have two things in common:
1. mainstream super-heroes
2. the logos of both publishers on the cover (or just their names)
This is the standard Marvel cover design witch was never used for crossovers. And both characters cannot be considered mainstream super-heroic.
I appreciate your points...but still it's an imaginary cover. Makes a nice visual. Whether or not it's possible or was possible...is irrelevant. I just like the cool pitcher. :) ...BTW- CONAN to the CONAN fans ...is as household and mainstream as any guy in tights. To us. But your opinion is welcomed and appreciated. People don't have to agree on everything.
