Well, I came across this Minimate somewhere (cannot remember where, for the life of me... sorry!) and I got seven kinds of excited thinking it was a Conan Minimate! But it's not. I think it's supposed to be Turok, or Tarzan or some such barbaric Conan wannabe. Oh well. Pretty close...
Anyway, it got me thinking and off I went, searching the interwebs for any sign of custom Conan Minimates, and lo and behold, I found myself perusing a web forum called Minimate Multiverse which led me to this interesting digital template for a Conan Minimate figure...
I thought that was a custom CONAN mini mate figure. I don't think it's TUROK. Oh well...could be.
ReplyDeleteYou ant' gonna like this...that's Skaar - but instead of Greean paint they painted him flesh to make a custom CONAN.
ReplyDeleteWhy would I not like that? I think that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, I see what you're saying, because I was assuming it wasn't a Conan, etc. Got ya.
ReplyDeleteWell, after doing a little digging, I agree that this is probably meant to be Conan, but I don't think it's a straight repaint, but a reconstruct using various parts from different figures.
I guess I was mostly thrown by Conan's scruffy five day beard.
I was actually talking about the idea that it was a Skaar figure. It was me who was assuming you'd think back to the DAMN YOU SKAAR entry. That's all.
ReplyDeleteI followed the link back and put Conan in the search engine and found the little entry the guy made about using a plain Skaar figure base and painted it up to be our favorite son of Cimmeria.
OF COURSE YOU'RE GONNA THINK IT"S COOL IT'S CONAN DUDE! I LOVE IT MYSELF and want one too!
I'm pretty sure it's Jack Lord (from "Hawaii Five-O"), with a 5 o'clock shadow.
ReplyDeleteOh and yes he was not repainted like Reis was saying he was just peiced together from several other figures. These things just snap together so they're easy to pull apart and repeice to make cool customs like the CONAN one there.
ReplyDeleteI should clarify - Reis said he was not a repaint. That he was indeed pieced together fromparts of several other figures.
