Since I tend to post a substantial amount of comics related material, I’ve been thinking about giving Dark Horse a little better coverage than I have in the past (apologies in advance to those over at DH that just read this and threw up a little). Soooooo, what’s been shaking on the Dark Horse front of late?
Well, the Wood/Various-Artist Conan the Barbarian is at issue #12 now and people have been raving about it...there's no middle ground here it seems, either you love it or you hate it. Personally I'm in the latter camp and Dark Horse hasn't pocketed any of my doubloons because of it...
If you haven't seen these, then bask in the glory of these teasers by Mirko ft. Dave Stewart on colors...
Now that’s so frick-frack-patty-wackin’ delectable (you paying attention DH? I’m upping the ante on my vocabulary just for you) that I could easily just ignore the words and still enjoy this comic wholeheartedly! Yeah Mirko! He's been posting some additional Conan panels on his blog too...check 'em out!
Expect great things from Mirko in the future (although probably at Marvel or DC working on some superhero comic that I won't give a crap about).
That brings us to Dark Horse’s other current Conan offering, which I expect I’d be enjoying right now since two more issues have been released...but only into the hands of a select few. Who's bright idea was it to associate it with some dilithium-crystal-powered retina-scan-enabled credit card with a built in laser pointer that nobody wants?
Finally, the most exciting news of all...MTV Geek is reporting that Dark Horse has announced a May 29th release date for "King Conan: Hour of the Dragon". All is forgiven!
In the words of the mighty Dark Horse:
"King Conan has faced many threats to his throne in Aquilonia—but none more deadly than a traitorous alliance backed by the resurrected sorcerer Xaltotun, at whose command mountains crumble!"
And there's pictures!
With names like Timothy Truman, Tomás Giorello, José Villarrubia, and Sanjulian being thrown around, this is sure to be a winner!
Thanks to Mars Singh El-Ton over at The International Robert E Howard Fan Association for the heads up!

where is the "like" icon on this blogger thingie?
Well I tried turning on the "like" button and even adding the code manually but I couldn't get it to look right. Our template has been customized one too many times over the years I suppose. :(
