Conan by Bekkouri Ikbal!

I've probably mentioned that I'm a huge fan of Conan sequentials, most likely because when the artwork tells a story it takes things to another level.  So when long time Crom! reader and Moroccan artist Bekkouri Ikbal sent me a short email and a link to his deviantArt gallery, it definitely warranted a post on Crom!

On Bekkouri's deviantArt profile he describes himself as a "big movie and comics fan, but only the good ones"  and "a huge fantasy fan and especially Conan".  Seems we have a lot in common so it just might be he's my conjoined twin and we were separated at birth!  Bekkouri writes:

"I did some conan sequentials and I just sent them to Dark Horse as a submission.  I don't know what will come of it, but I want to share them with every Howard and Conan fan and your blog is the perfect place for that...it is eleven sequential pages of a generic Conan story (I know it is long for a submission but I couldn't help myself)."

Well here it is, and with a few pages beautifully colored...great stuff Bekkouri!

My research assistant (if you will) Marek also hooked me up with this very same artwork within days of hearing from Bekkouri, so a flask of ale and a couple of warm wenches for each of you!

After Conan brained that first guy with the axe I would have run away. Nice stuff. Some of it reminds me of Richard Corben (the first colored page, especially).

Great art...love the seuqntial movement and ANATOMY...don't care for his jock strap though. BUT...it's great stuff. He should be working at DH...unless he is already

Agreed about the jock strap Mike. That might be ok for Ronal, but it's a bit extreme for Conan.
